- South & Tittley (1986) haben in der Vergangenheit fälschlicherweise Streblonema-Arten bei Litosiphon eingeordnet. Nach Kornmann & Sahling (1990) können die Streblonema-Arten jedoch nicht als Stadien im Lebenszyklus von Litosiphon angesehen werden.
