- Der von Buttler (2017) publizierte Name bezieht sich auf die Populationen der Ost- und Nordseeküste. In Korneck et al. (1996) und im Atlas (NetPhyD & BfN 2013) wurden diese noch in Armeria maritima subsp. maritima eingeschlossen, die in Deutschland aber nicht vorkommt.
